Tags! What a CHALLENGE!!!

Tags - this is another one of those crafting items that I am not quite sure what to do with. So, when the challenge for Day 153 popped up on the 365 card blog I KNEW what I would use, I just didn't know HOW I would use it. I have had these tags for, oh a couple of months now!! I bought them at Michael's because they were on sale and I thought they were pretty and I knew then I didn't have a CLUE how I would use them - so, they have been stashed away. Of course, while I was looking for something to put in the center of the flowers, I came across some little plastic tags that I could have used as well, and STILL do not have a clue how I would have used them either!! Let's just say that TAGS are a big challenge to me! Oh, I love looking at what others have done with them - but I just can never figure out how to make them look so elegant.
Anyway, instead of using a stamp for my sentiment, I hand-wrote the sentiment from one of my stamps. I wished I had the Night of Navy marker, as I think that would have made it so much nicer, but I didn't so I just used one of my Martha Steward writers. I bought these flowers - again at Michael's - ON SALE - and I KNOW how to use primas - especially these ones - they are just the right color, just the right size and they are so pretty with the glitter and such on them - I could buy a TON of these!! I punched the scallop from white cs, and then realized that it didn't really match - if the cs was off white, it would have been better, so I decided to grunge it up a bit with my distress inks. I chose old paper - now, I am not sure about you, but my old paper looks GREEN to me - anyway, it worked here ok. I stamped my scroll stamp with white on the blue bg for added texture.
In all, I am pleased with the way it turned out - and may have to look into making something with the REST of the tags I have - they are in books of 24 and I bought TWO of them (the other one is pinks!!)
Thanks for stopping by today - and enjoy the rest of your visit in the spa.

I don't use tags much on my cards, although like you I have a lot laying around and have bought stamps to use to make them. There's just to so much do to and too little time to do it! Like the colors of your card, a favorite combo of mine.

Well you certainly overcame your fear of tags with this gem, didn't you?!! Lovely, lovely card. And the handwritten sentiment is lovely (I could NOT get away with that one myself - my writin's atrocious!)
